Position Overview:
The Software Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, ensuring the smooth planning, execution, and release of software products and enhancements. This role serves as the operational backbone between product, engineering, QA, and business teams—managing releases, documentation, incidents, problem investigations, Scrum processes, and change management activities.
The Software Delivery Manager ensures delivery excellence, operational stability, and continuous improvement across all software development and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Release Management:
** Own the full release cycle across environments (Dev, QA, Staging, Production).
** Plan, schedule, coordinate, and track releases across teams.
** Ensure all release readiness criteria (testing, approvals, documentation) are met.
** Facilitate go/no-go meetings and communicate release outcomes to stakeholders.
** Oversee rollback procedures and post-release validation.
Documentation:
** Manage and maintain product, process, and release documentation.
** Ensure that documentation is updated in alignment with changes, new features, and production deployments.
** Collaborate with Product Owners and Engineering to maintain high-quality user and technical documentation.
Incident Management:
** Act as the escalation point for production incidents.
** Coordinate incident communication and resolution.
** Lead post-incident reviews (PIRs) and ensure actionable improvements are implemented.
** Ensure timely communication to internal stakeholders and customers.
Problem Management:
** Identify recurring issues and drive problem investigations.
** Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure preventive measures are implemented.
** Work with engineering teams to reduce operational risks and improve system stability.
Scrum & Agile Delivery Facilitation:
** Support and guide Scrum teams throughout sprint planning, execution, and retrospectives.
** Ensure alignment between product roadmap, sprint goals, and team capacity.
** Track sprint progress, impediments, and delivery risks.
Change Management:
** Oversee operational and production changes across services and systems.
** Ensure all changes follow internal approval workflows and compliance requirements.
** Reduce change-related incidents by improving change quality and planning.
** Maintain transparency and communication around upcoming and completed changes.
Software Delivery Lifecycle Management:
** Ensure a consistent and efficient SDLC across all teams.
** Optimize workflows, improve processes, and align delivery with organizational goals.
** Track KPIs such as deployment frequency, lead time, incident reduction, and release quality.
** Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Product to improve predictability and delivery performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
** 4-6+ years of experience in software delivery, release management, or technical project management.
** Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile frameworks (Scrum), and DevOps practices.
** Experience coordinating releases in cloud or distributed environments.
** Excellent communication and cross-team coordination skills.
** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
** Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence and incident management platforms.
Preferred:
** Experience in ITIL-based environments (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
** Background working with SaaS products or Atlassian ecosystem tools.
** Technical understanding of software architecture, versioning, and deployment processes.
** ISO27001 or security/compliance exposure.
