Job Description:
Position name: Automation QA Engineer
About the open role:
We are looking for a skilled Automation QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the quality of a real-time, socket-based application. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in WebSocket testing, API validation, and real-time data synchronization. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites to validate the stability, performance, and accuracy of application logic, socket connections, and user flow across the platform.
Duties and Responsibilities:
** Design and maintain automated test frameworks for socket-based and API testing;
** Develop end-to-end automated test cases covering:
- Real-time socket communication;
- Synchronization between server and client;
- Session management and reconnect behavior;
** Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to identify test coverage and edge cases;
** Automate regression and smoke tests for each release cycle;
** Monitor test runs in CI/CD pipelines;
** Analyze socket event payloads and ensure accuracy of event sequencing;
** Work closely with QA manual testers to transition scenarios into automated scripts;
** Report defects;
** Validate data consistency between socket responses, REST APIs, and database entries.
Basic Requirements:
** 2+ years of experience as an Automation QA Engineer;
** Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for test scripting will be plus;
** Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, WebdriverIO, or Selenium;
** Experience testing Web Sockets / Socket.IO / real-time communication;
** Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and event-driven architecture;
** Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git-based version control;
** Knowledge of Postman, Socket.IO clients, or custom socket testing tools;
** Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in debugging event sequences;
