Litup is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Publishing Rights & Author Relations Manager (Georgia-based).
Litup — a cross-border online bookstore & boutique publisher focused on Georgia, with expansion plans for Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Why this role exists
We`re looking for a deal-maker who knows the Georgian publishing scene inside and out, with some familiarity or interest in the broader Caucasus region.
Your primary mission is to:
** Spot and secure English-language and regional rights (print and e-book) for promising Georgian authors - this is our top priority.
** Gradually identify and support authors from Armenia and Azerbaijan as we grow.
** Ensure each signed title reaches readers - through smart coordination from translation to publication and beyond.
What success looks like in the first year:
** Sign at least 12 titles, with 6 or more from Georgia and the rest from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
** Launch 8 of those titles in both print and e-book format—roughly 2 per quarter.
** Ensure that Litup breaks even on your cost within 9 months of the first launch.
What you`ll do (approximately 60% time, flexible schedule)
** Scout and negotiate rights with authors, agents, publishers, and estates - mainly in Georgia, with a growing focus on the South Caucasus region.
** Together with our laywer draft and finalize contracts for print, e-book, and audio formats in English and Georgian.
** Coordinate hand-off to production: deliver manuscripts, work with translators and designers, and track deadlines.
** Use Litup`s internal tools - including AI buzz-tracking and sales dashboards - to help identify titles with strong market potential.
** Build relationships with local Georgian distributors, and lay the groundwork with regional distributors in Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Who we`re looking for:
** Someone with at least 3 years of experience in rights, editorial, or literary agency work, especially in Georgia.
** Fluent in Georgian and English; Armenian or Azerbaijani is a welcome bonus but not necessary.
** A proven track record of closing at least 5 rights deals - please include a short list of these with your application (title, language rights, year, your role).
** Able to work part-time (around 3 days per week) with flexibility and a results-oriented mindset.
** Well-connected in the Georgian publishing world, with bonus points for links in the broader Caucasus region.
Compensation and growth potential:
** Competitive monthly salary based on experience, with potential for a raise after 7 months depending on performance.
** 6% royalty on Litup`s net revenue from any titles you bring in - paid quarterly, with no cap.
** Travel stipend for attending a major book fair (e.g., London or Frankfurt), if key performance goals are on track.
How to apply:
Please send the following by 2 August 2025:
** Your CV
** A short table listing recent rights deals (title, author, rights secured, year, your role)
** A 150-word note describing one emerging Georgian or regional author you`d pitch to Litup, and why
