PROGRAM AND POSITION SUMMARY:

The Women`s Initiative for Security and Equality (WISE) program was launched in October 2022 with the goal of understanding, preventing, and addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG) as it intersects with violent extremism (VE). The goal of the program is to understand and address gender-based violence (GBV) as it intersects with violent extremism (VE), including but not limited to racially and ethnically motivated VE through locally designed and led initiatives to address physical, technology-facilitated, and related violence that negatively impacts gender equality and inclusive, democratic societies. WISE program is implemented in Georgia and Armenia.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Driver/Logistics Assistant will provide safe transport services for the Mercy Corps program and support staff in the described Area of Responsibility (AOR). The Driver/Logistics Assistant will adhere to all traffic and Mercy Corps safety rules and follow the transport guidelines required by the Mercy Corps Operations Department. In addition to these duties the Driver/Logistics Assistant manages the safety of all program vehicles and keeps proper records of vehicles related documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

** General management of program vehicles in co-operation with the Operations Manager.
** Ensure that all program vehicles are safe and road worthy.
** Responsible for monthly compilation and submission of program vehicles log-sheets.
** Schedule vehicle use to meet programmatic and operational needs.
** Maintain vehicle board daily.
** Oversee and ensure proper use of the program vehicles.
** Ensure fuel consumption tracking including coordination with gas station (s)
** Organize regular service schedules for program vehicles. Maintain service schedule files.
** Ensure cleaning and major repairs for program vehicles are done in a timely manner.
** Submit program vehicle related receipts to the Operations Manager.
** Coordinate with Operations Department to ensure regular vehicle communications.
** Ensure security measures for program vehicles such as parking, storage of keys, emergency supplies, etc.
** In coordination with Operations Manager, organize security levies as needed for field trips.
** Ensure that security incident reports are completed and filed (if related to program vehicles).
** Ensure that accident reports are completed and filed.
** Conduct himself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission in country of operation.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

** Minimum five-ten years of experience as a driver
** Valid driver`s license and experience in driving 4x4 vehicles
** Must respect and adhere to all safety and traffic rules
** Fluency in Georgian and Russian languages
** Basic understanding of English language
** Knowledge of Armenian language is an advantage
** Knowledge of routes, duty stations, and project areas is required.
