Within the framework of the project "Economic Participation of Internally Displaced Persons and Vulnerable Local Population in the South Caucasus" (EPIC), Action Against Hunger aims to support the socio-economic inclusion and increased participation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and vulnerable host community members. It will achieve this goal by increasing their skills and competences that will improve their access to employment, entrepreneurial and education opportunities. The project targets the city of Tbilisi, four municipalities within Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region and two within Kvemo Kartli region.

Action Against Hunger aims to stimulate entrepreneurial activity and business development through the utilization of its "Entrepreneurship Shuttle" methodology. The approach will support groups of 20 unemployed people in the target municipalities who are motivated to launch their own business start-up. Through coaching and peer support the `shuttles` enable them to develop their social skills, improve their self-esteem and increase their entrepreneurial key competences and understanding of the market, while at the same time giving them the opportunity to work with the business community to develop mutually beneficial relations. The project will also support the development and expansion of enterprises by IDPs, by enhancing their business knowledge and practices, facilitating access to finance and improving their sales and marketing skills.

To support and guide this process the project seeks a qualified and experienced consultant or agency to make a Regional Market Assessment in the target regions. The aim of the assessment is to map and analyse the private business sector in the six target municipalities of Tbilisi, Senaki, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Poti and Marneuli. Furthermore, the assessment should seek out all funding opportunities open to private businesses and provide a comprehensive overview of all such opportunities. The EPIC project is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
